There was a problem
Often imitated, never bettered, our iconic Clarks Originals men's Desert Boots are reinvented in a fresh steel blue colourway this season. Designed in 1949 by Nathan Clark the Desert Boot was inspired by a rough boot from Cairo's Old Bazaar. An instant hit, it became the footwear of choice for off-duty army officers. Premium suede enhances the simple, clean lines that are teamed with an unfussy lace fastening and signature crepe sole. This style comes in a narrow fit so we advise ordering half a size larger than normal.

I normally take a size 6 or 7 shoe/boot and do not think I have a particularly wide foot. I had tried a size 7 desert boot in store, but found them too big. I ordered a size 6 on-line, but these felt too tight, therefore I returned them and ordered size 6 1/2. These still felt large in length, but overall fitted better. I think the problem is that the boots are only available in a narrow F fit. If a standard G fit had been available I think a size 6 would have been ideal. The boots themselves are well made and look good. The service from Clarks was excellent, the orders being delivered within 3 days and the return being dealt with promptly. Feedback From Clarks: The Desert boot is an Original classic which was developed by Lance Clark in 1949 keeping true to its Originals shape and look the shoe has changed little since it was created all those years ago. Since its then it’s gone on to sell millions of pairs and is loved by Originals fans across the globe. We do however recognise that it doesn’t fit all foot shapes but as its such a classic we’ve kept it true to its roots and kept the same last shape and fit.
