  • 4 stars out of 5Will they prove me wrong.

    Roger from gravesend

I have had an earlier version of this shoe that has had a lot of heavy use over the past couple of years, hence why needing a replacement. I'm not sure these look as robust and the soles look thinner. Only time will tell. No problem with the height of the heel support. It isn't quite as high as previous pair. Ordering was easy and delivery quicker than expected.

  • 1 stars out of 5What is happening at Clarks

    A from stirling

I have worn Clarks shoes for years due to the quality of materials and manufacture. BUT I have just taken delivery of a pair of Stream Jet GTX and am so disappointed with the size and amount of material involved. I know that it is difficult retail times, but this shoe that has supposedly evolved from a previous style is not a patch on either quality or size. I have worn as an everyday casual shoe the previous model for a few years now and they are still ok if a little battle weary. The new pair , althought the same (marked) size would not cover the top of my foot leaving an expance of lace ,very skimpy, were tight on the toes, not at all what I expected. Some one at a senior (board) level at Clarks should revue the quality and style. it will be a shame to loose confidence in a company renound for its products.

  • 5 stars out of 5Very Comfortable

    Suphamit from ladkrabang

I have been using these shoes for around 3 months. They went with me to Poland and then to the USA. I walked in them a lot during these trips. This was the only pair of shoes I used during the 2 weeks period. My feet thanked them. They were so comfortable to walk in. The inner soles eventually mold may feet into them and produced no smell. All in all, a great dependable pair for extensive walking.

  • 3 stars out of 5Tighter fit than normal G fitting

    Joan, solihull

I only ever purchase Clarks shoes but I am returning these for two reasons. First, they are tighter fitting than normal with Clarks G fitting. Second, it is not obvious from the description that they have a surround of suede just above the sole, which for me is unsuitable for a waterproof type shoe and is difficult to keep clean and free of polish when cleaning the shoe.

  • 3 stars out of 5They actually hurt

    Luca from barnet

I had read a few reviews mentioning that the back side is too tall, and it could have been annoying. I bought the shoes hoping that this wouldn't apply to me, but indeed they are badly done, and they do hurt. Apart from that they are all well done, but it's not enough to be happy, I think it's a major flaw in the design, and Clarks should admit that instead of saying that everyone's feet are different.

Very comfortable, particularly with wide feet like mine (recommend wide H fitting). Very good looking and great if you're having to walk and go into a smart restaurant or somewhere like that.

  • 4 stars out of 5Size is important!

    Keith, new milton

These are good quality shoes. I'm not so keen on the suede trim. but I suppose that is to protect the leather. I found that I had to re-lace them to position my heal correctly as they were a snug fit length wise. I would recommend that anyone purchasing these as a "walking" shoe should consider going up half a size, particularly if wearing thick socks. Feedback from Clarks: We do try to be as consistent as possible in terms of sizes and width fittings and all our styles are fit tested as part of our product development process.  However we do find that styles will fit differently due to the differences in design and that a customer may need to select a bigger or smaller size in order to find the most suitable fit.

  • 5 stars out of 5Quality with comfort

Just tried my new Stream Jet GTX which my wife bought for me to replace my previous pair. I have been wearing the previous pair of Clarks Air shoes for about 4 years and I hate new shoes. The new ones just fit perfect and so comfortable straight out of the box. I like the style rugged easy to wear and smart for a casual pair. For once I will be looking forward to wearing a new pair of shoes and hope they will last as long as my previous ones.

    Mike, st. austell

Have recently ordered 3 different pairs of shoes from Clarks all have been returned. Found to be ill fitting, uncomfortable and lacking quality for the price. Clarks were once top of the tree in terms of shoe manufacture but alas it seems no longer Time to look at other suppliers what a shame. Feedback from Clarks: Thanks for leaving a review; we’re sorry to hear you’re unhappy with your purchase. We value all our customer feedback so thank you for your comments which have been fed back to our team.

    Terry from tunbridge wells

I would have bought these shoes as a more or less direct replacement but was concerned about the high back around the ankle area. I have had similar shoes before that have been very uncomfortable. My concerns were borne out when I read other reviews of the shoe. Please return to the original and proven shape and I will purchase. Feedback from Clarks: Thank you for leaving a review. We know that everyone's feet are different and so do our best to provide shoes to suit all shapes and sizes but in the end comfort is a personal thing. We offer a free delivery and returns service so customers can try the shoes and return them in an unworn condition if they are uncomfortable.

  • 3 stars out of 5Not as good as it could be

I've always bought Clark's shoes and been happy with them. This shoe is light with a comfortable fit. The sole is soft. Clarks have always managed to design distinctive and attractive shoes without them looking like trainers. In this instance the design is slightly off. By far the worst feature of the shoe is the raised back. This curves further up the tendon than a normal shoe and causes irritation which, thankfully, goes away after a day or so of wearing. That is, in my case. In other people's cases I can imagine this causing considerable problems. However, the sides of the back are raised and these dig into the ankle on either side of the tendon when stretching your legs out and resting the heel on the ground. I found this in the taxi today and the discomfort was sufficient for me to pull both feet up so that my shins were vertical against the seat. This removed the pressure from the ankle. Clarks, you have not done as well as usual with this top of the range shoe. I hope to see it replaced in the near future with something more intelligent, in keeping with your usual standards. Please give us attractive, distinctive design without looking like trainers. Don't play around with the fit at the back. Feedback from Clarks: Thank you for leaving a review and we're sorry to hear you didn't find these shoes comfy. We know that everyone's feet are different and so do our best to provide shoes to suit all shapes and sizes but in the end comfort is a personal thing. We value all our customer feedback so thank you for your comments which have been fed back to our team.

Returned as too uncomfortable to wear (aside from being a bit cheap looking). Will return to Clarks when they bring back the original Spyman. In the meantime someone else is getting my money.

Bought a version of these in a sale and they are so comfortable, easy to walk in and very dry too. The only down side was the high ankle which at first rubbed but soon became ok and caused no more trouble. I hope they last as long as my last pair of Clarks (7 years and still going strong).

These are an updated version of the Spy Man GTX, that I have presviously bought and almost worn non-stop for the last two years. They are comfortable, durable, smart casual shoe - that your feet will thank you for. This new version is the same in most regards - reportedly lighter and I can't tell but the grip is supposed to be better. Spy Man GTX were the best thing that happened to my feet. These maybe the second best.

  • 3 stars out of 5Disappointing

    Stephen, bingley

Clarks have lost their way. Their shoes used to be made from soft, top class leather and were comfortable out of the box. The soles were soft and felt as if they had a spring in them. A G fitting from Clarks was wide and accommodating. Not any more. These Stream Jet GTX, for all the desperately trendy name, will have to be "broken in" as the leather is hard and uncomfortable. The soles have no bounce at all, in fact they feel as clumpy as work boots and I'll have to take Clarks word for it that their is air technology inside as it doesn't feel that way at all. The G fitting is skimped, to say the least, and the shoes feel tight despite being the correct length. My first pair of Clarks were Polyveldt "meat pies" back in the 1970s. They were the most comfortable shoes ever. Come on Clarks. Find your way back to quality! Feedback from Clarks: We are very proud of the quality of our products and to ensure this all our new designs and materials are tested before they go on sale.  If you are disappointed with any of our products please return to a store with your receipt so a member of staff can investigate. Many thanks

I recently purchased these shoes on line and they arrived very quickly, a good service indeed. The shoe is well made and very comfortable. I have wide feet so the wide fit size is excellent, as less and less shoe manufacturers offer a wide fit option, so again well done Clarks. Also I recently visited Clarks shoe shop in Clarks Village, they did not have the shoe size I required but the staff were very helpful and provided me with the shoe information so I could order them on line, a good service indeed.

Bought Rain Tech GTX couple of years ago and these are to replace/complement them. Comfortable and smart enough for everyday work use. Don't let previous reviews commenting on high back out you off trying them. Remember that fit of shoes is very individual, you always have to try them out. If they don't fit, send them back.

  • 5 stars out of 5comfort, waterproof and excellent value

    Roger from penzance

This is my third pair of similar shoes. Three years ago I bought my second pair in which I travelled coast to coast in USA wearing them every day. I have worn them each day since. Last week I purchased my third pair in Milton Keynes. They didn't have the size in stock, but a new experience - they delivered them to Penzance three days later - perfect. Lovely Cornwall is always wet when everyone else is suffering drought. I cannot stand wet feet and these shoes are excellent. One doesn't get sweaty feet as they breath as well as keeping the rain out. Thank you.

  • 5 stars out of 5Comfort first class and look stylish

    Alison from clitheroe

Wasn't so sure I could justify spending so much money on a day to day shoe. But you can't put a price on true comfort. These look good, feel great, do a great job in the bad weather and at size 12 they don't look too chunky! They actually make my feet look smaller! In the past I have purchased some expensive shoes which do return on the investment, and also bought men's fashion store shoes (cheap) and they were cheap!! These I'm hoping will continue to live up to the brand reputation of clarks and continue to be the best investment in footwear I have ever made.

Just received delivery of these shoes via Parcel Express having seen a smaller size in my local store. (As I'm a size 12, getting a choice of shoes in store is always problematical). Very impressed with the finish and the quality of manufacture. Very comfortable to wear.

Like other reviewers I've been wearing his shoe's predecessor - Spy Man - for the last couple of years and jolly comfortable they were too. These are less stylish and less comfy. I do not normally have to break in my shoes from Clarks but these really need it, so I am wearing them for short periods at the moment so that I can put up with the pain (of the crease which forms in the top of the shoe when it bends, and which sticks into my foot).

  • 4 stars out of 5A reasonable replacement - but why change a winner

    David, budleigh salterton

Around 18 months ago I bought a pair of Clarks Gore-tex(R) shoes called MOOVERS which have been the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. So much so, in fact, that I've worn them almost every single day! Feedback from Clarks: Thanks for leaving a review; we value all our customer feedback so thank you for your comments which have been fed back to our team. Anticipating that I might have to replace them, I tried in vain to buy another pair exactly the same. I contacted Clarks, only to be told they were no longer available. I tried eBay ..... and found a pair, identical to mine! On closer inspection though, they were the wrong size. :-( I've tried on other styles, none of which have proved satisfactory. This pair of Stream Jet GTX are very similar to my MOOVERS, albeit adorned with some suede which I don't particularly like. I've tried them walking around indoors and I'm sure they'll be fine. What I really don't understand is why Clarks cannot maintain a 'core' of styles which folk can always replace when the time arises. I'm confident that there will be others like me who don't want to change 'style' on a regular basis. To my mind, shoes are NOT a fashion item! So there! :-) David B.

  • 3 stars out of 5A gap in the range

    John from cambridge

I wore Nature Three shoes for a long time. I need the Active Air technology all the time for orthopoedic reasons so I want something suitable for town as well as country wear. I also need size 8½ in G fitting. When I last looked for the appropriate shoes I found that these Stream Jet shoes were the only ones which roughly fit my requirements. However, I find the design fussy to look at and I am convinced that they are straighter than Nature Three shoes. If I try to walk around in them all day I get uncomfortable pressure on the outer aspect of my big toes, which is a symptom of shoes made on too straight a last. I found Nature Three shoes perfect for my requirements. Plain but not ugly and spectacularly comfortable. The Stream Jet GTX is a disappointment in all respects. Bring back the Nature Three concept even if you call it something else. Feedback from Clarks: Thanks for leaving a review; We still sell the Nature Three shoes which can be found on our website.
