"I have a very stylish friend who absolutely rocks brogues and demonstrated how she wears her white pair beautifully with black tights and a simple black dress. Very monochrome, lots of black and it shows off the shoes – Perfect. I absolutely love these brogues."

Why I love flat shoes by Hannah Rochell of EnBrogue
I never wear heels. Not ever. I don’t even own any. It's not JUST that flat shoes are a huge catwalk trend right now (they are, though), nor that I would much rather be comfortable and not have to worry about falling over
(I would, though). Even the fact that I am medically predisposed to wearing flats (which I am, due to a dodgy back) wouldn't stop me wearing heels if I really wanted to. But I don't want to. Not even slightly.
I just prefer the way flat shoes look, regardless of what's on the catwalk this season.
As far as I'm concerned, flat shoes are always cooler than heels, and that's that.
Flatties fanatics like me aren’t so driven by seasonal trends, more by firm favourite looks that have proper longevity. I look at the Clarks summer collection and know right away that there's plenty to fit in with my part tomboy-part 1960s mod wardrobe. Hotel Image in cream are going to look amazing with my vintage zig-zag A-line shift dress, made by my mum in 1968. The new two-tone take on Hamble Oak is perfect to wear with turned up skinny jeans and an oversized white shirt. And I love Fenner's Fun for a feminine version of a classic man's shoe.
Of course, my love of masculine styles means that Mr Brogue and I often end up dressed pretty much the same, but that's just fine by us.
