Shopping online with Clarks is easy – just follow these simple steps…
Browse by category
From our home page (www.clarks.co.uk) you can browse for styles in your gender. To do this, simply visit the Womens, Mens or Kids pages – by clicking on the links that run across the top of the page (above the grey navigation bar), or by clicking on the banners labelled ‘Women’, ‘Men’ or ‘Kids’. These links will lead to the landing pages for each gender.
You will also see a banner labelled ‘First Shoes’. This leads to the First Shoes landing page.
Look for shoes in a certain category
Across the top of the Womens and Mens landing pages you will see eight product category buttons, for example ‘Smart’ or ‘Active Air’.
By clicking on each of these, you will go to a selection of products that fall under that category, helping you to find the sort of products you want.
The Kids landing page is a bit different. When you visit it you’ll see banners that lead to Boys, Girls, and First Shoes. By clicking on Boys or Girls you will be taken to the Boys or Girls landing page. It is here you will see the eight product category buttons for that gender.
For First Shoes you will only see three category links for the three stages of your child's development – Crawling, Cruising, and Walking.
Alternatively, you can use the navigation bar on the left hand size of the page. This will allow you to filter under more specific categories, for example ‘size’, ‘colour’ or ‘price’.
You can search within multiple categories. For example, click on the ‘5’ value under ‘size’, then click on the ‘black’ value under colour, and then click on the ‘casual’ value under ‘purpose’. This search will present products available in a size 5, in the colour black, that are suitable for casual wear.
Search for a specific style
If you know the name or product number of the style you are looking for, you can type this into the white search box at the top of the page and then click on the grey search button next to it. A list of the style (or styles) that match your search will then appear.
If you only know part of the product name, e.g. ‘rose’, products that may match your search will appear, e.g. the styles ‘China Rose’, ‘Henderson Rose’ or ‘Kylie Rose’.
However, only inputting part of a product code will not return any products.
Choosing a style
By using the product category buttons across the top of the page, and the navigation bar on the left hand side of the page, you will be presented with a selection of styles available to buy online.
These styles will be displayed as a list. Each product on the list will have a small image, the name of the style, its colour and basic material (e.g. black leather), and its price.
To learn more about a particular product simply click on the image to see its product page. These product pages will enable you to see a larger image of the style, plus six alternative views of the product from different angles, all with a zoom facility.
Here you’ll also find a written description of the style, and a breakdown of its construction – for example, materials, heel height, fastenings. If any technologies have been used in the style, for example Active Air, you can click on the links in the written text to visit a page which explains these in more detail.
Stock availability of the style will also be visible on these pages. If a size is available, the box with its number in will be shaded in grey. If it is out of stock the box with its number in will be light in colour with a red cross running through it.
Placing an order
If the size you want is in stock, and you would like to order it, simply click on the grey box in the size you want and it will turn green.
You will notice for shoe styles that unless there is a choice of widths, the default width will automatically be green. If the style you wish to purchase is not available in the width you want, use the left hand navigation bar to search for styles in the width you require.
Once the size and width boxes are both green, the ‘Add to order’ box will turn green. Click on this to place your order.
Once you have done this an ‘Added to basket!’ pop-up box will appear (with a small image of the shoe you have ordered, its price, and the size and width you have chosen) to confirm your selection.
From this box you can go directly to the checkout (by clicking on the ‘Checkout’ button), or you can continue shopping.
Once you have selected a product and ordered in this way, you can view it in ‘Your basket’ – a link to which is displayed at the very top of the page. From this page you can proceed directly to the checkout, via the green ‘View checkout’ button.
